David Angelo’s eEconomics nails it on trickle down economics

I’m not sure if I posted any of David Angelo’s eEconomics videos here before, but this man is brilliant.  In his latest video, he discusses the topic of “trickle down economics.”

You might remember Slappy Jones linking an article by Thomas Sowell discussing the myth that trickle down economics is actually a legitimate economic school of thought.  I thought Angelo would discuss something similar, but instead he took it in an entirely different direction.  And what he shows is hilariously ironic.

    • Interesting. I think the guy has excellent delivery and that his message is even better.

      • The “I’m smarter than everyone” approach and tone doesn’t do it for me and from everything I have read and learned about communication is not an effective way to get people to listen who normally wouldn’t. It is great for a pep rally with an audience full of people who already agree with you, but not to get converts. Message is fine I’m just saying its tough to listen to.

        • Ah, okay, I see. I think he does a good job of using humor to show the absurdity of the claims of his opponents. And maybe his target audience is simply people like me, so I view it that way.

For a site that we’re trying to run where we do want to convert people, I guess posting a video like this could be a bit dangerous, but it also does a great job of giving our side a little bit more ammo for going after many of the irrational arguments put forth by the central planners. That’s where I saw the most value in the video (and admittedly, I didn’t mind the humor part either).

It’ll be interesting to see if David Angelo ever catches any sort of wave of popularity and how, if at all, he changes his approach to gain a wider spectrum of listeners.
