Episode 78 – Ridiculous partisan bickering over North Korea

It just feels like it’s impossible to do anything without a partisan fight breaking out.  Maybe my expectations were warped since it’s the Olympics that’s the center of the latest political bickering, but they are supposed to be a time of peace and goodwill.  And this time each side is no better than any of the other times.

Much of the mainstream media (and many others on the left) have decided that Kim Jong Un’s sister, Kim Yo Jong, is their new darling.  What did she do that was so amazing that captured the hearts of so many?  She didn’t acknowledge someone from the Trump administration, Vice President Mike Pence.

Apparently literally existing and doing nothing else in the presence of someone the media doesn’t like is enough to make you a rock star in the eyes of the media.

So of course many conservatives fired back but it quickly turned into an argument over which country was good and which one was evil.  And now people are assuming that criticism of one country’s policies automatically assumes full support of the other’s policies.  So we discuss the crazy idea that you can simultaneously reject what each of the governments do in both countries and how the typical conversation surrounding these issues are devoid of logic and just completely ridiculous.
